A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an outdated address or has made a typo. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam messages, but this problem can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

Creating a catch-all mailbox will be stunningly easy if you have a Linux web hosting with our company. You can enable this feature through our advanced, albeit intuitive Email Manager tool, which is included in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will administer your shared web hosting account. You will see all the email addresses that you have created listed in alphabetical order and next to each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly show you if a particular mailbox gets all the emails associated with a given domain name or not. With one click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option at any time. If there’s active email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you’ll get an alert from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be enabled without any effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a mini sign conveniently located right next to each of them. With just a single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the context menu that will show up. If any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will let you know, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
